More Toyota Recalls

In the past month, Toyota has recalled Siennas for corrosion problems, recalled the Lexus GX460 for potential rollovers, now they are recalling Sequoias for an overeager stability control that prevents acceleration.

This is on top of recalls for:

Prius brakes
Floor mats jamming gas pedals
Unintended acceleration from sticking gas pedals (separate from floor mat problem)

Toyota's recall is nothing compared to Ford's 2008 recall though, when they had to recall 12 Million vehicles for faulty Cruise-Control switches (Which caused fires).

This problem is nothing new. They have had a similar problem with their vehicles (trucks) since at least 2006-07. I know of at least one TSB that Toyota issued for the Rav4 for the exact same problem at least 2 years ago, but there were probably others. Their quality has gone to $hit.

To the contrary, the Toyota I currently own is the most problem free vehicle which we've ever had (Including Chevy, Pontiac, Nissan, Volvo, you name it).

Toyota is still one of the most reliable manufacturers out there. Recalls are nothing new in general, and every company has them.

As far as mechanical reliability and workmanship, Toyota is top notch. A lot of their recent problems have been with software flaws.
