Wind Farm in Cape Cod Approved

Looks like the gov't signed off on that controversial wind farm in Nantucket Sound.

I love how most of society screams that we need to be energy independent, but only as long as it's not in my backyard and my beautiful views aren't affected.

I just caught wind of this story myself. I feel that the opposition was full of hot air.

It's okay. My old Senate seat went to a Republican so screw them all.
Let it howl.

American Indians in the region also objected, saying the wind farm would be located on sacred ancestral grounds....

This is a horror movie in the making.

Won't the wind turbines kill the seagulls?

Can they put cellular antennas on wind turbines

The turbines spin at approximately 10,000 rpm with razor sharp blades destroying anything that flies into it. All seagulls in the northern atlantic will be fish food within a matter of months. Im sick of them crapping on me everytime I go to the beach although a asian told me it was good luck.

Sweet! Can we get Tom Dickson to host short video clips of the turbines destroying different things?

I want energy independence as well, but seriously, who the hell wants to look out their window and see a field or beach area FULL of windmills? In a desert environment such as parts of California, I don't see any problem, since there isn't much to look at anyhow (At least in the rural areas). Around a popular beach area though, no way.

It is barley visable from the most southern shoreline.

+1. It is visible only to the rich families who have been fighting "big oil" for decades, and now they can see the fruits of their labor every day if the weather is perfect and they use binoculars. Shouldn't they be happy they aren't seeing an oil rig?

I don't see how they're an eyesore. It's a hell of a lot better than living in some industrial city where you see smokestacks everywhere.

And how is it Indian sacred ancestral grounds 5 miles off the beach?? Oh yea they drowned out there when the rip currents pulled them out to sea. Sounds like the rich influencing some tribe to sour the deal. Last time I checked there were no Indian reservations on Cape cod.

Sounds good to me. I'll move there just so I can see the wind farm.
This might be a nice place to live.
