I remember when a cousin of mine was robbed at gunpoint in NYC once, it was back in the 70's, when the City was really shit. He was walking to his apartment, and some guy just casually walked up and jammed the gun into his ribs.
I also know another guy up there from Queens too, and he had some guy pull a knife on him in an apartment hallway. He had the butcher knife against his throat, but somehow he fought him off and the punk ran. Definitely not a fun experience.

Damn, I was just right by there on Johnson Ave a few weeks ago buying a stereo on Craigslist. Whenever I see listings in DC I worry about whether it's a good neighborhood or it might be stolen, but I googled the seller and he was a lawyer, so I figured he probably lived in a decent neighborhood and he probably wasn't a fence.

Well I don't know about the racial profiling aspect, but if you are only 5'9" tall and you are pushing 180lbs, then I think it is safe to say that the guy was NOT 'average build'. But infact, he must be one little pudgy rolly-polly bastard.
