President's First Pitch
Posted by: First Lady ()
Date: April 05, 2010 02:27PM

It sounded like he was getting some boos from the stands. I don't care if the fans boo him or not, but they should have refrained from booing him while he was greeting the wounded soldiers/sailors/marines/airmen.

Once he was done with shaking their hands, go back to booing him, boo him louder for wearing a White Sox hat, and boo him as loud as you can after he threw that girly ass pitch. Unless things improve for him, that pitch might not be the only lame duck on that field.

The place was probably packed full of Philly fans. They would boo Ron Jaworski if they had the chance.

Oh, and that was one heinous pitch. I'll give Dubya that. He knew how to throw a pitch.

Correct. But they do not have to listen to gay gay gay gay 24/7. At least
now our soldiers don't have to worry about dropping the soap.

So word is Stan Kasten was on Philly radio encouraging Philly fans to come to DC for Opening Day. What a fucking way to run an organization.

I haven't heard anything recently about that, so I would assume so. By the same token, how would the Lerners feel if one of their mall tenants simply refused to pay rent for months at a time?

That's why he ignored them at Bagram, even while using them as a photo-op backdrop for his election campaign. I'm not sure that he's as bad as Kerry though, so I'll give him that much of a benefit.

That sounds exactly like the Penguins at Caps games. Good for the Caps owner though, as he finally started requiring Zip Code entry for ticket purchases.

Btw, I obviously don't like Obama, but I wouldn't boo him at the game. I thought his pitch was hilarious too, but it's obviously not his game, so I'm not going to verbally smack him around for it.

I think Bob Dole has a better arm...

I always thought it was bullshit about him being Indonesian, but with throwing skills like that, he's looking pretty suspect.

Kenyan born Muslims who go to madras in Indonesia aren't exposed to baseball
very much. They're better at soccer.

He is actually right-handed, but is so liberal that he will only throw with his left.

Hmmm. It did look suspiciously like a cricket pitch.

He can't name from the top of his head a favorite player of the team he claims. He waffles around with way too many "uhs' and "ahhs" regaining confidence and composure when talking about the difference between Cubs and Sox fans and gets back to the old school class envy.

The question was who was his favorite Chi Sox player growing up and he said that he didn't follow the Sox when he was a kid because he didn't live in Chicago then. I like the Nats, but I sure the fuck don't have a favorite Expo player from my childhood.

But Obama claims to be " a Southside kid"? I'll use kid as an adult term of course, but he is claiming a region and a loyalty like it's in his DNA.

That he couldn't kick out an answer from the top of his head like "I moved to Chicago in 19xx and started watching then". Not at all, that was an uncomfortable political dog paddle for someone who is a very decent orator to weasle around like that. He only "got back on his feet" when he made the compare between Cubs and Sox fans and went with the dictate he's used to playing about working class etc.

Nothing wrong with not knowing sports. But it's pretty lame to use them as political currency. It's kind of like that radical black church Obama went to. I don't think he believes in Reverend Wright, but he's just the kind of a-hole politician that wants to be everything to everybody. He went to that church for some cred in the black community, now he tries to claim the Sox to look like he's some beer drinking, hard working blue collar regular joe.

Barry,please!

This is much ado about nothing. We live in a transient society. I didn't live in DC when I was a kid. If someone asked me who my favorite Redskin was growing up, I would say the same thing Obama did.

As for the "dog paddle," I think it is Obama's unfortunate tendency to talk through his thought process. A lot of people I know do this. It's annoying, but it doesn't mean he was trying to "dog paddle."

Just admit it- he's phony, he's trying to be Joe 6 Pack when he's really a Trader Joe's wine sipper and we all should have voted for Ron Paul.

Ken Burns and George Will are huge baseball fans and aren't exactly "Joe 6 Packs." When was the last time you went to a baseball game? There aren't a lot of "Joe 6 Packs" there anymore. Those guys are at football games, the NHL and possibly NASCAR, not baseball.

It was Obama that made the Cubs vs. Sox comparison, always trying to fit in to that working class mode when he got a free ride into college. He's a phony in that regard.

I go to 4 or 5 games a year. My team has been the O's since childhood, though I've been giving the Nats a try because its close I like the event and the game regardless of who is playing and Angelos sucks. Nats Park is a mix, there are a lot of the transient pop coming there, I went there for interleague against the Red Sox and it was all a bunch of kiss ass Hill staffers from New England. Camden Yard is a much better mix of America, old Memorial Stadium even better, especially the cheap seats.

I forget who said it but Ken Burns looks like Dorothy Hamill on crack.

the potus pitch was fine as far as it went. Not everyone can throw down the pipe like Bush did. It was the White Sox hat that really kinda bugged me.
