There are about 8 months to election day. If Bloomberg spends $2,000,000,000.00 over that time, that is over $8,000,000 a day, just to fuck with Trump. Naturally, he will hire the best ad makers money can buy, and I suspect he will have a shrink or two on staff advising him where to poke at Trump where it will have the most effect. This, of course, is in addition to the money everyone else is going to spend to send Trump home to his fate.
Trump will cheat, so, like last time, he may still "win", but he is not going to enjoy the experience. Total meltdown.

Trump supporters seem to misunderstand what is happening here. As there is nothing that can be done to stop it, I will explain.
Trump's greatest weakness is not his bigotry, or lack of intellectual curiosity. It is not even his complete lack of moral foundation. No, Trump's greatest weakness is his insecurity. He lives moment to moment in fear that somebody will figure out that he has no idea what he is doing. Remember the story about the emperor's new clothes? It's like that, only on steroids. His moment to moment anxiety level is crushing.
Bloomberg is a horrible politician on the stump, but he understands this about Trump. And he will be spending BILLIONS to take advantage of Trump's Achilles heel. Total, constant mockery. Educating the electorate and boosting Biden will be secondary, and besides, there is now plenty of other money to do that. This seems to be personal for Bloomberg, maybe he did not like Trump making fun of his stature. Whatever, Trump has pissed off a guy who has the means to make his life miserable.

Similarly, Bloomberg has enough money to pay all the lawyers he needs to keep straight with the Feds. Not that it matters. After Citizen's United (decided by the alleged conservatives on the Court), there are no rules anymore.
The important consideration in all of this is that Bloomberg really does not need to influence voters by himself. He just needs to get under Trump's skin, which, I believe, he has calculated will be ridiculously easy to do. In 2016, the Dems "went high when Trump went low". In essence, they were fighting with one hand tied behind their back. Not this time. And the purpose will be to get Trump to overreact, which, given Trump's insecurity and narcissism, should be low hanging fruit.

No war? We still have troops in a bunch of different countries, and a number of those places the locals take shots at the Americans every chance they get. It is low intensity warfare, but I suspect the troops there would call it warfare nonetheless.
Not to mention he has given North Korea all the room the need to push their nuke/missle program forward. He makes threats about Iran, but Iran is closer to nukes (and the means to deliver them) than they were when Trump took office.
Finally, he has proven to those who might otherwise be our allies that he will cut and run the first opportunity he gets. Overall, the world is NOT a safer place for America than when he took office.
Free trade? We'll see. The trade war with China has been put on the back burner. NAFTA 2.0 is little more than a tweak (perhaps needed) to NAFTA 1.0. Other than that, Trump talks a lot about trade deals, but were not seeing much in the way of final results.
Prosperity? The last two weeks has created a bit of a question in that regard. But even without the market meltdown, Trump's economy is roughy comparable, GDP wise, with that of Obama. No war? We still have troops in a bunch of different countries, and a number of those places the locals take shots at the Americans every chance they get. It is low intensity warfare, but I suspect the troops there would call it warfare nonetheless.

Finally, he has proven to those who might otherwise be our allies that he will cut and run the first opportunity he gets. Overall, the world is NOT a safer place for America than when he took office.
Free trade? We'll see. The trade war with China has been put on the back burner. NAFTA 2.0 is little more than a tweak (perhaps needed) to NAFTA 1.0. Other than that, Trump talks a lot about trade deals, but were not seeing much in the way of final results.
Prosperity? The last two weeks has created a bit of a question in that regard. But even without the market meltdown, Trump's economy is roughy comparable, GDP wise, with that of Obama.
