How many side jobs do you need to work in order to make a living?

I'm a software developer from 9-5, but on the side I walk dogs, drive door dash, do some free lancing on e-lance and have my own store selling stuff on Shopify. I do this just to make ends meet and save money for a house of my own. all together I bring in about $87k and barely make it.

I am sorry you feel you have to do that. You certainly aren't alone. The fact is, the conventional 9-5 that you worked for 40 years, then retired from with a nice pension is long gone. Learn to code, or start your own business or several businesses. The great thing about today's day and age is there are people literally making money out of thin air. My 16 year old brother made $30 thousand last year just selling shit on etsy, poshmark and Shopify. You just have to grind.

Up until maybe 150 years ago, everyone worked for themselves to make a living. We had this period of time post civil war up to now where we could find someone that would pay us a wage to do work for them, but that's starting to fade. Everyone will have to be an entrepreneur soon enough an order to make a living. The government isn't going to bail us out either. Neither Bernie, Liz Warren or Trump is going to be able to take care of you. you've got to look out for you and your own, brother. I wish you the best of luck.

You must be a really shitty software developer. Even Junior software developers make 104 to 110k at my company and they work from home two or three days a week.

It seems pretty simple, right? Everyone would like a job for themselves)) I know a guy who works from home and uses various templates and software such as https://en.archivarix.com/ This gives him the opportunity to make good sites that are popular. At least I did not see him sitting without orders.

Get a government job you rarely show up and you get paid more than in the private sector including free medical dental and vision.

I see that you work hard for a good life and you have many jobs for it. It is good for you. However, if you don't change something in your life especially how to make money, you will continue to make the same for a long time. I will advise you to choose one thing that can you bring a good income of money, such as Shopify or dropshipping. What is dropshipping? It is an online market where you sell something and I suggest you develop this because it can give you much more than you think. Moreover, you can use a lot of tools which can help you to increase fast your customers and much more. I think that I helped you with something useful.
