Anyone else remember Annandale/Falls church in the 1980s

back when it was great, and we didn't have to learn a new Augean just to order something at McDonald.

When people that looked like us, You could leave your car and door unlocked because no one would steal anything.

I agree, it was fun...Stores/Restaurants/Bars/Parties...fairly self contained....Good times.

It was even nicer in the 60s when parts of 236 was two lane concrete, fat chicks were a rare item, tattoos were only seen on sailors and ex cons and there existed a big chunk of nothing between where the beltway is now and Fairfax City. Cows actually grazed around Camp Washington at the time and Winchester was only 45 minutes away by fast Mustang. Good times!

I knew Annandale was turning to shit in the early 80s when my Mideastern townhouse neighbor across the way would set on the stoop to smoke in all kinds of weather and too lazy to take his shoes off to go inside would walk across the court to piss behind my landscape bushes.

Annandale was cool when the Pagans called it home.

I think the Pagans killed a couple people in Annandale in the 70s.

Annandale in the 80s was already on the downhill slide. The good things about Annandale in the 80s were mostly the legacy of the 60s and 70s.

The 80s is when Annandale and Springfield started to go downhill. Right at the end of the Vietnam war was when this area was at its best. Other than a few priests at Holy Spirit and St Bernadette's raping altar boys there was almost no crime.

I remember when we were in high school back then, we'd pull into somebody's driveway with the high beams on and just start laying on the horn, and then when they'd come outside we'd yell "Fag!!" and speed off. I'm sure libtards would try to kick you out of school if you did that now.

The Catholic church thinks a 50 year old man with a 10 year old boy is just natural.

I’m not old enough how it was 30-40 years ago, but I am pretty sure Annandale has never been all that great.
