If you have low pressure from your shower, it probably has nothing to do with the flow restricter. Behind the shower handle(s) are two adjustable valves, one for hot and one for cold. By turning it counter-clockwise, you can increase the flow.

Also, shower heads have filters that get clogged. Just pull it out and rinse it off.In Virginia, you should get 30-80 psi without a restricter. Restricters reduce your shower to 2.5 gallons per minute (that's plenty, think about it).

Exactly HOW did he "bring it to code"? Get a pressure checker and attach it to your outdoor spigot. If it's between 30-80psi then you have plenty of pressure. Look more at your devices and pressure settings on the valve mixer.

What funny pictures there are on this thread. And it really annoyed me when I had a crack in my drop in bathroom sink. I might have been upset, but thanks to this, I threw out the old sink and bought myself a new chic bathroom faucet with the sink. So, I'm very glad I found one of the perfect drop in bathroom sinks and thanks to this law, I can wash in the bathroom for hours.

This thread is funny. High water usage toilets are available right here in this country at any good plumbing supply house. The 1.6 gallon per flush requirement only applies to residential toilets. Commercial toilets are available all day long at places like Noland or Vamac. Although it is a code violation to use a commercial toilet in your house nobody is going to give a shit unless you pull a permit for the toilet replacement.

In the Energy Policy and Conservation Act, passed in 1994, Congress mandated that toilets sold in the U.S. use no more than 1.6 gal. of water per flush--less than half the flow they had employed before. ... Trouble was, the 1994 law made selling them illegal in the U.S., punishable by a fine or even imprisonment.
