Earth Hour - Will you be part of the solution?
Posted by: Ecofriendly ()
Date: March 26, 2010 02:39PM

Earth Hour is Saturday March 27. Turn off your unimportant lights and other appliances for one hour to show that you care about climate change.

Will you be part of the solution, or part of the problem? Your choice.

I'm turning everything on high. My house has lots of big ass windows so I'll be putting off enough light to make up for all you idiots turning yours off.

I'm much happier and comfortable being part of the problem. I might also just turn on my truck and let it idle for a few hours.

Oh, congratulations. Pat yourselves on the back... You went a full hour with your "unimportant" lights turned off.

The Earth is saved.

Will RV hook up his BBC (Big Black Cock) dildo to 220 vs 110 current?

That, my friends, is the question of the Hour.

There's no such thing as man-made global warming, its a theory based on speculation, fear mongering, and junk science.

If you care so much about the environment, why not sacrifice a full day? Would that be too inconvenient for you?

a sheeple response would be to blindly accept anything an organization tells you. well guess what, turning off your lights for an hour will do nothing to solve the problem. it doesnt matter if you care or not because it wont solve the problem. creating sources of power that dont use resources like dams will actually work toward a solution. then you can switch to battery powered cars without indirectly using resources.

caring is NOT part of the solution.

Nothing but drilling off shore oil will "solve" anything...will it, dip shit? Your cynicism reminds me just what a piece of shit you really are. By the way piece of shit...caring, is the first step in solving a problem. Nothing was ever solved by cynical pieces of shit like you...and your mother.

I will be turning on all my lights, radios, televisions, and yes, I will take my ride out for a spin, and rev. the nice 3.5 VQ to the tach's content, and burn rubber, whilst lullabying myself to harmony through the sweet melody of a twin-pipe performance-tuned exhaust.

Just to be environmentally friendly though, I will be offering a free ride to the birds that live around my house, maybe the Fox, and Raccoon family too. I'm not sure if I have enough room for the Deer though, and I don't want the Bobcat tearing up the leather interior.

Oh yes, I cannot forgoet the Squirrels either!

Ok, let's be fair here. The goal of Earth Hour is to raise awareness, not actually do anything about it. Like one of those Lance Armstrong bracelets; it doesn't cure ball cancer, but it reminds people that ball cancer exists.

That said, anyone who believes this will actually do something is a delusional slacktivist.

Geez, what a fool I have been. I always turn off my unessential lights because they keep sending me this electric 'bill' thing (a pain in the ass).

So now I find out, that I'm only supposed to do it one hour a year!?? Duh! I feel really embarrassed.

The same people that celebrate Earth Hour are the ones that buy Ethos water at Starbucks and put Free Tibet bumper stickers on their Honda Insight. It's something that makes people feel they are making a difference in the world.

You forgot the "Save the Bay" stickers on the huge SUVs.

As a kid I used to think Earth Day was a good thing, until the Global Warming nuts took it over, and then I realized what a fucking hippie was.

When they turned off the lights to Big Ben, I just imagined what might happen if a helicopter pilot was flying by at that moment, and he failed to notice the tower.

When all corporations and individuals who have benefited from bailouts from actions they decided to take do something to be part of the solution to the problems THEY caused, I'll shut off a light for an hour.

Fifteen percent of electricity is currently from renewable sources. Shut down every polluting train, truck, car, and factory for a week and I'll say that's a first step toward a "solution."

Neither do I.

I'm concerned about the fuel those big recycling trucks consume and the pollution they spew while picking up a few pieces of recyclables from the individual.

I'd rather focus on the area where recycling matters.... the large corporations.
