Had to disable WMM/QoS in my router settings because download speed was too slow. Went from 1mbs to 33mbs after I disabled WMM.

thats what you get when you buy cheap. Spend a hundred dollars more on a Dell and you wouldnt have to worry about this shit.

QoS is what allows government to steer bandwidth to themselves - who don't pay for internet, and cut out paying customers who paid for the bandwidth

the natural rule of "full throttle" until a next connection arrives is already fast

when that next connection arrives it's ME and I WANT every bit i paid for NOW

meaning: i dont' give a crap if your dvd isn't done if my app is trying to fetch some bits

your dvd is your problem: get off my channel

the natural rule of "full throttle" until a next connection arrives is already fast (it means all avaiable bandwidth is cut equally between connections - it's the default - it also means during non-traffic hours the connection is naturally FAST)

I've always had different problems with Lenovo and that's why I don't use their laptop anymore. I decided to replace my laptop with microsoft surface and it's so awesome. Once I broke its screen but it wasn't a big deal because Microsoft surface book repair isn't expensive.

Hi! I also change my laptop once because I thought that the Wi-Fi card wasn't good enough but it turned out that the issue was in the router. No it wasn't broken or something it just needed to be configured appropriately. So after setting it up using the default IP configurator https://router-passwords.com/ip/192-168-10-1 the internet started flying again. The conclusion is that you should not rush and waste money on new hardware, very often the problem lies in the software. Hope my advice helped. Good luck!

Cable companies make dealing with routers obtuse for a reason - they rent shitty routers for 5x the price of buying them. I happened to have a usb wifi antenna lying around and it sped up the Lenovo even more. Yes my dirt cheap 200 dollar Lenovo was good in every way except the shitty wifi interface.

BTW is was a lot more than 100 dollars cheaper than a comparable Dell. Comparable dell was 450 bucks. I have lots of dell laptops (build my own desktops) Dells are ok but I wanted 2 for the teens that I wouldnt worry about getting ripped off at school.
