that is such a huge fucking load of bullshit.
- the principal canceled the prom, you cannot blame someone for the actions of another. ("she was cheating on me so i had to stab her to death!" <-- NO!)
- a system that does not want to be changed can only be changed via legal battles, bribery, coercion, mass uprising, public humiliation or subversion.

my understand is that she asked first and was denied via cancellation. when the "word" got out about this it got attention then media attention then the arms of rights groups started flailing at decided to take them to court.
