In addition to numerous phone calls, Megan made 4 trips from her home to Henrico. In addition to travel time she spent between 1 and 5 hours each time. She hauled along a banker's box of documents with her, and had to pay for her own gas.

For the first trial, Megan had a "cheering section" of the entire Moreno clan plus a reporter from the Washington Post sitting in the courtroom "staring and glaring" at eesh who was acting as his own defense attorney. The Moronos had made the 230-mile road trip with the reporter in tow in an effort to throw off eesh's concentration and train of thought, in which effort they succeeded.
