Lizzie is also black, had a public defender and had 18 previous charges, 9 convictions and was already on probation with a two year suspended sentence over her head at the time of the offense. So to only get a total of 3 years for the five charges she had occurred during all of that out of the 23 maximum years she was originally facing; considering all of those factors is a pretty good deal.
