WASHINGTON (WJLA) — Metro says that they're losing roughly $40 million a year to fare evaders.

Metro GM Paul Wiedefeld is calling it a big problem that needs to be handled. In Maryland and Virginia, fare evasion is still a crime and one Metro board member from Maryland is saying if DC wants to implement a system that encourages customers to ride without paying fares then the District should cover their share of the costs.

The DC City Council voted earlier this year to decriminalize fare evasion which means if police stop fare evaders they can’t ask for ID and there are no consequences.

Nine out of the 10 Metro routes that have the most fare evasion violations are in DC.

The W4 bus, which runs from Anacostia to Deanwood, has the most fare evasion with 800,000 incidents in fiscal year 2019.

This is just ONE consequence of guilty white liberalism.
