FCPS bus diver is double dipping
he works at a school bus driver from 6-9 am on weekdays and from 9:30-1:00 pm he drivers for uber and from 1:30 pm- 5:00 pm he drives the school bus.
should double dipping be allowed? My god this guy is rich

Who could live off of $500.00 a week after taxes in Fairfax County and its only for 186 days a year. Have no problem with it. Has to feed their family.

I can see why, after talking with a bus driver. Yeah they make almost $20.00 am hour to start. But who could live off of 6 hours a day. She said its even worst for the van drivers that transport the special kids. They get less pay and have to deal with the students directly. If the kids having a bad day you get punched or kicked. Cant get away from them in a minivan. She said she knows that there are violations of the Fair Labor Act where your supervisor says they wont pay you while you are driving the bus or van. This will blow up and be another black eye for our wonderful school system.

He is working two jobs, not double dipping. Double dippers usually retire from someplace (usually the gov't) then go back and get paid to do the same job they have been doing while collecting a pension from said job.
Working a second job while also working a first job is just trying to hustle and/or your first job is not giving you all you need... looks like you have probably never had ANY job..

So I was eating lunch in Fairfax and there was a group in there talking about this. I don't think anyone would have to double dip on this job and there are over 100 vacant bus drivers jobs. Anyone could get extra hours if they wanted too from what it sounded like.

There are always special events going on like sports teams that need to be transported, trips on saturdays for make up SAT testing, marching bands going to events, the list is never ending. Some of these special events even include going out of state and staying overnight in hotels.

They usually take newer buses on those trips. If its winter they take gasoline fueled buses. I drove wrestlers to Pittsburgh for a tournament a couple years back, fun times! The county put me up in a nice Hampton inn for two nights.
