She was not "ordered to pay 10 million dollars," she is being sued by the nuts at One America News for 10 million dollars, big difference. They filed a lawsuit because she showed a link between their reporter and her work with Sputnik News.
The suit also suggests Comcast, owner of MSNBC, will not put OAN on their systems because it would be competition for MSNBC. Remember, OAN believes Obama was born in Kenya, and Hillary killed Vince Foster, so their credibility is shot as a competing news service. Also, OAN claims to be a 24 hour a day news provider, but only broadcasts about eight hours a day live. Why would a cable system waist bandwidth on such a poor excuse for a news operation?
the lawsuit is to get sympathy and get their name out there. Though NBC has not stated what law firm will represent them, Orin Snyder over at Gibson Dunn has the inside edge.

She actually provided all of the documentation to show that OAN did run news articles paid for and written by Russian propaganda sources. That’s why they’ll never get a dime of that ten million. Sputnik is well known all over the world for being a Kremlin propaganda machine. People who’ve worked for them have even criticized them for that and they’ve had hundreds of fake social media accounts shut down for spreading disinformation. I don’t really see any merit to OAN’s lawsuit, that Sputnik guy was on their payroll and write articles for them.
