Fairfax Underground
Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
Historically there was no speed limit nor mandatory "full stop", and when the first ones where made it was only in certain states.
yes the nation did take to speed limits and LOW COST TRAFFIC TICKETS (there was no high cost traffic tickets or seizure of license (except due to proven mistake prone persons))
HOWEVER UNTIL CLINTON - STOP SIGNS WERE SAFETY INDICATORS LIKE A MERGE SIGN - not legal indicators. The great liars promoted them as actionable law to promote police state court $$$ charges on infractions THAT WERE MEANINGLESS - such as not coming to an absolutely full stop at night when no headlights could be seen anywhere.
in the 1970's a rolling stop was considered "green" and "fuel conserving". a wise rolling stop was considered "hyper mile-ing" in today's terminology. and the savings terrific - millions of tons of fuel are at stake. (note to stupid millenials: approaching a red light slowly is also a huge fuel conservation - but most democrats drive toyota speed to red lights cutting people to get 1 car ahead and come to a rapid stop: the hugest crime of fuel waste ever)
rolling stops where the driver carefully inspected traffic (or lack of anyone in sight) for safe passage were sometimes called "california stops"
By the Bill Clinton philosophy, a bend in the road sign is also a law you must turn your wheel or be a criminal for not doing so.
we also saw totalitarian treatment of school children: "zero tolerance" democrats called it. but zero tolerance was Nancy Reagans phrase for her "no sale of drugs ON SCHOOL grounds" (meaning, no war elsewhere just on school grounds).
democrats began ARRESTING PARENTS for decisions that used to be a parent's decision and SEIZING THEIR HOMES after false imprisonment: a money motive. send your child to school? are you "ready" for that ?? it used to be that parents would be outraged if a school took action on a matter (not harming any other student matter) - and schools were FORCED by courts to abide by PARENT'S WISHES - not government's wishes, damn it

Under OBAMA, drivers became CRIMINAL for mistakes leading to accidents. But they call them accidents because they're accidental?
WRONG: a rider in fine print in insurance papers says "accidents involving criminal activity" (such as running a red intently) "are not covered for insurance"

targeting the weak one can take over complete sectors of government a little at a time - as you can see when you look at road work in FAIRFAX - it's all done by illegal aliens, the contractors are all tied to it. targeting the weak is an effective and illegal tactic.

it used to be you could drive WITHOUT INSURANCE - probably before Bill Clinton (who's era continually made totalitarian laws they themselves were NEVER SUBJECT TO ... such as "prison time for marajuana" laws (bill smoked it, never got prison for it - wasn't illegal then))
if you hit someone without insurance - you were in big trouble. perhaps put on the street to die of starvation - but that was more the fate of a released prisoner

IF YOU COULD GET IN A CAR with permission, you could drive it, so long as the cops didn't deem the car unfit to be on the road.
if you owed money - it was society's repsonsibility to insure you could pay the debt by OFFERING the way to pay it. beating your ass if you refused to work to pay it - was a possibility, and "you'd deserve it"
(number one - the churches helped the poor if the poor were compliant with church demands - decades ago that was assumed but today it simply isn't possible)

The first STOP sign appeared in 1915 in Detroit, Michigan.
Had the creaters fathomed or even worried that "STOP" would be "taken literally" in the future, and that people would at times end up dying (in prison) for not having stopped
they would have taken the sign and burned it, and placed a go sign in it's place (because people from michigan are like that)

the sign merely indicated that one MAY NEED TO STOP ahead because of intersecting roads: to keep one's eyes peeled, to reduce speed appropriately where one cannot see vehicles oncoming from a different direction
