DOJ finds dossier author Christopher Steele ‘credible’ after 16-hour interview

The extensive, two-day interview took place in London while Trump was in Britain for a state visit, the sources said, and delved into Steele’s extensive work on Russian interference efforts globally, his intelligence-collection methods and his findings about Trump campaign adviser Carter Page, who the FBI ultimately surveilled. The FBI’s decision to seek a surveillance warrant against Page — a warrant they applied for and obtained after Page had already left the campaign — is the chief focus of the probe by Horowitz.

The interview was contentious at first, the sources added, but investigators ultimately found Steele’s testimony credible and even surprising. The takeaway has irked some U.S. officials interviewed as part of the probe — they argue that it shouldn’t have taken a foreign national to convince the inspector general that the FBI acted properly in 2016. Steele’s American lawyer was present for the conversation.

Not a Factual statement

(CNN)A newly released snippet of a deposition with the ex-British spy behind the Trump-Russia dossier describes some of the steps he took to verify information he collected for it in 2016, including pulling from a user-generated citizen journalism initiative by CNN, iReport, which no longer operates.

Christopher Steele admitted during a lawsuit deposition that he used internet searches and unverified information to support details he had gathered about a web company mentioned in the dossier, according to select pages of his deposition transcript that a federal court unsealed this week.

But Steele limited his answers about how he verified information about the web companies who claimed they were defamed. He would not explain, for instance, what else he did or sources he used to verify information in the dossier about Webzilla, its parent company XBT and their Russian founder Aleksej Gubarev, who were named in the dossier. He did not have to describe during the deposition all the steps he took to collect or check the information because of terms set by the court.

But he could talk about web searches — and how he didn't realize one article he found in his research was a submission from a "random person," as an attorney pointed out, rather than a news report.

A Grand Jury found the felony charges were warranted for Trump's hand-picked shitbags. Many plead guilty, were cooperating witnesses, re in jail or about to be sent there.

Don't here anybody denying the part about Trump and the pissing prostitutes - especially the Russians.

When Steele was pressed on how the website worked, however, he said that he “[did] not have any particular knowledge of that.” He also answered in the negative when asked if he “[understood] that they have no connection to any CNN reporters.”

He was then asked if he “[understood] that CNN iReports are or were nothing more than any random individuals’ assertions on the Internet,” to which he replied:

“No, I obviously presume that if it is on a CNN site that it may has some kind of CNN status. Albeit that it may be an independent person posting on the site.”

Steele characterized how he gathered his information as “an open source search,” which he described as “where you go into the Internet and you access material that is available on the Internet that is of relevance or reference to the issue at hand or the person under consideration.”

He also admitted that some of the “raw intelligence” presented in the dossier could potentially be “deliberately false information.”

FISA court authorized warrants.
Special Prosecutor was appointed by Trump.
FBI Director fired by Trump.
New FBI Director appointed by Trump.
Attorney General Sessions appointed by Trump.
Attorney General Sessions fired by Trump.
Attorney General Barr appointed by Trump.
All were confirmed by Republican Senate.

Many Trump people were guilty of felonies and put in jail as a result.
None of them worked for Steele.
They worked for Trump.

Why do you have an issue with Steele and not Trump?
