the article above louds a LAB EXPERIMENT done with $gov money claiming to have created a black hole in a lab to confirm existing theories of "escaping particles" (quite a messy thing to measure in a lab - how would one judge error of method used?)
WHAT IS KNOWN is that during black hole flares galaxies warm significantly (but how a galaxy looses and retains heat is not so clear) (which last ) (or major ejections - called quasar ejection sometimes), significant galaxy heating occurs. (i'm having problems finding how long these massive star eating jets occur eruptions occur 200,000 light-years long, then certainly at least 200,000 years it took to get that way - and something longer we guess)
Our milky way black hole COULD erupt at any moment (or any million year) - all that is known is it hasn't in a very long time and the eruptions are thought to be eventual. If it did - life on our planet might very well change.
