It was live TV commentary on breaking news. It is not a time to have or even use carefully worded talking points. You don't get talking points that quickly (unless you are Rush Limbaugh using multiple chat software).

Since Nicole attributed the thought to herself, and made the plagerism accusation, it was clearly not a talking point given to her, and she credited it as her original thought. You don't make such claims on live TV if it can be proven false.
