Surely meade has been on a bridge before!
But I think I know what has happened - either meade's gig got cancelled, or it did not exist in the first place, and now he needs an explanation. So, he won't perform in any city that has a bridge he doesn't like. Perfectly logical!

Had meade simply invented the gig, I don't think he would actually have booked a hotel. So maybe they cancelled.

If he got the gig he will probably do a vlog about it. He didn't say he canceled his gig. He said he canceled that hotel room. He probably found one in downtown or West Ashley or some place where you don't have to cross that bridge. The bridge is called The Arthur Ravenel, btw, and it's the 3rd most longest bridge in the United States. Meade isn't the only one who fears it. Many people hate that bridge.

the force vector of the top strung wires points diagonal but also toward the center (the v causes that tilt). if the bridge moves the force is in and out the forces at the top of the inverted v could be enormous causing it to be something like a twist tie in comparison to the forces
i'd be on that bridge on any nice day having no earthquakes for sure! looks sturdy when things are calm

i haven't seen UNDERNEATH the bridge and that's where many if not most failures happen. attempts to use (concrete+rebar, CHEAP) to avoid using steel girders (expensive) does lead to bridge decks "suddenly falling". it's the most common failure, the deck falling

i think it might survive an earthquake or deck that began swaying for any of a number of reasons
but the fact is that ^ at the top is not well suited for twisting (unequal tensions from on side of the ^ to the other nor from the left to the right). it just isn't. we don't know if it's concrete+rebar or concrete protecting a girder either. compare to the Golden Gate bridge uprights.

Yes, I am sure the technically-proficient meade can differentiate a safe bridge design from one that is unsound.
But I ask; if he didn't like the bridge, why not take an alternate route (it's not as though the offending bridge is the only means to cross the river.)
