Fuck You MTV, Fuck You VH1

I'm watching Live8 and was constantly annoyed by those fuckers dropping in and interrupting great performances. I thought they would lay off during the Floyd show. They didn't... they interrupted with shit like "isn't this cool?" yeah it would be cool if you would shut the fuck up and put the picture back on the band. Then they cut to commercial during Confortably Numb. It's just friggin unbelievable. Maybe they did it to create demand for some DVD or something down the line.

I'm surprised some of you still make the decision to put any of those channels on. None of them value MUSIC anymore so what's point. They seriously should think about dropping the names MTV and VH1 for something more fitting.

Yeah, I resisted for years and years, but when I could only see Wizards playoff games on expanded channels I had to upgrade. Thought it would be worth it for the Nationals too but then Comcast and MASN got into their fight.

Dish also requires higher than basic service to get the Wizards games on Comcast Sportsnet. I get the feelling that those providers are in it for the money and not to provide a decent service.

I think it's more market forces. Local broadcast networks apparently see better ad revenue in playing the Network (with big 'N') lineup than preempting these with sports. It's just sad that the _playoff_ games didn't warrant preemption.

And don't even get me started on the Nationals fiasco. I concede that getting the team here unfortunately required giving too many rights to Peter Angelos, but not being able to see all the games on television sucks. Why MLB is agreed to let Angelos do this is beyond me. Arguing that a team's proximity to another is a reason to block it if the market is there is silly. New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles have two teams each... no reason why the nation's capital can't have one. But sports = money unfortunately.

And you can still get some songs from there on demand. I wish I knew they were broadcasting it at the time... I was glad to see the uninterrupted Floyd show on AOL earlier this week.
