Roosevelt already tried to stack the SC, without success, and he was elected three times. Trump should focus on how's he's going to explain to the folks his gangsterism.

Nine justices are a tradition. It is not a Constitutional requirement. We started with six and at different times have been seven and eight. Currently each Federal Circuit is presided over by a Supreme Court justice. Since there are more than nine circuits that means some justices have to do double duty.

There's also no Constitutional requirement for Justices to have a law
degree or even having been admitted to the bar of any state. I nominate
Fruppie to be the next Justice when Ginsberg kicks the bucket.

The comment responded to was one in which the poster equated keeping nine justices with respect for the Constitution. One could be just as respectful of the Constitution and advocate for a five justice SC or an eleven justice SC. The nine justice court was not some carefully considered decision by The Founders. It is a legacy of a scheme by Republicans to control the court in the aftermath of the Civil War. So rather than assuming it has to be nine justices lets instead ask how many justices would it take to have the best functioning court.

they are supposed to handle mandatory International cases then also Congressional cases (and review legislation from)
they can DELEGATE AUTHORITY
PROBLEM: the federal circuit might be a federal circus - they may not wish to delegate authority to them (but USSC can delegate the authority elsewhere if they feel the need)
do they need more than 9? not if they are "managers"
CONGRESS ILLEGALLY '#funded' DOJ to be a 'competing authority'. supposedly under control of USSC, usually Congress controls what DOJ does with money strings
