Anyone had a car engine ruined by Jiffy Lube?
Posted by: UppityNegro ()
Date: March 18, 2019 10:37PM

I went there because my light was on and I was late for an appointment.A week later, the light came on again and it was flickering on and off. After about an hour's worth of driving, my car broke down and the mechanic says there's major engine damage.
However, he said it doesn't look like it is the result of driving without enough oil

I go to Mr Tire. With the coupon you can get a change for $20-$25 including all shop fees and tax. Last time though they did not put the oil cap back on. Luckily it was on the radiator. But I drove 2 miles with it like that. Moral of the story is, check under the hood and car before you leave.

Are you niggas out of yo damn minds?

If you think taking your car to a bunch of retarded high school kids is saving you money, keep doing it. If you are anything other than a snowflake single mom taking your shit there, you need to get your beta cuck card laminated.

Jiffy Spooge left the oil cap off my wife's great grandmother's car. About a week later she tells us that her car has a really bad burned oil smell. Pop the hood and everything is coated in oil. The paid to have the engine steam cleaned.

There are thousands of stories out there of jiffy Lube and the other drive thru shithole shops fucking up motors, radiators, transmissions etc... all by failing to do even the most basic things, like putting caps back on.

Even if they did do this, they spend most of of their time upselling you shit you don't need. That triple priced air filter he's holding? Your husband could have put a new one in yesterday and he's still going to tell you it's dirty and needs to be replaced. because if you go to jiffy lube, you clearly don't know any better anyway.

And they will never take any responsibility for fucking up your car. You might get your motor steam cleaned where it spewed oil, but you won't get the new motor that you need.

I took my Audi there. While in the waiting room, I heard a noise like someone ripping up a thousand phone books. I look up and one of the guys is taking a sawzall to the undercarriage of my car. Audis have a plastic shielding below the engine. It is supposed to be removed in order to perform service on the bottom of the engine. Nope, they just cut an access hole...

It was replaced but...damn.

It looks like we had 2 morons in the same place.

The guy who changed you oik was the moron for not checking the service manual.

But you were the even BIGGER MORON: you paid Mercedes-Benz money and accepted a Volkswagen.

They did there best. But sometimes you just got a bad engine. Next time try to get their sooner and maybe they could catch it in time.

I work for a company with a a fleet of 17 to 20 cars vans and pickup trucks. Jiffy Lube has changed the oil in all our vehicles since 2006 and they have never screwed one up. Our employees use whatever Jiffy Lube is convenient for them not just one location. Jiffy lube is probably the best place you can go for a oil change.

It's even scarier that you don't know.

A flickering light is a bad sign. Read the owners manual. It's throwing a critical code. It happened to me and turned out to be a faulty fuel injector which could have damaged the catalytic converter. Not likely the result of an oil change.

I take liberal friends who are lobbyists out on the bay to fish with Democrats in Congress. Last year getting gas at a marina one of my best liberal socialist friends who helped write the Obamacare act filled my boats gas tanks through a hole in the boat that was a fishing rod holder, the boat burned at the gas dock to the waterline when he dropped his pipe into the gas filled bilge, how do I set up a Go Fund Me ??

I have a old 06 Accord and it has 245,000 miles on it Jiffy lube changed the oil over 40 times in it since I bought it new. They never screwed it up.

I change it myself in my F-150 because I drive less than 3k miles per year. Since I use full synthetic, I change the oil every other year in the spring. I have to shell out about double for the high-end oil filters since the cheaper ones, including the Ford-recommended Motorcraft filters, cannot handle such a long service interval. They start to disintegrate six to twelve months after installation.

The other thing is that these shops make it a hassle to vary from manufacturer's recommendation for oil weight. Manufacturers recommend oil that is too light for gas guzzler models to game the CAFE standards. I use 5w30 in spite of the 5w20 recommendation for better engine protection at the cost of about 0.8 MPG.

Hey guys...I found the misinformed idiot...

My 2010 Audi S6 has a 5.2L V10. You know...the same block in the Lamborghini Gallardo. Sure, VW offers a significantly cheaper version of S6...that's the Passat. However, the Passat has never been available from the factory with the Lamborghini V10.

In base trims your piss and vinegar holds a bit more water but hey...you do you.

You pretentious piece of liberal monkey dookie... Chances are the only risk you've taken in your life is to sneak a peek in on your mommy getting banged by neighbor chuck when dad was away. You must love your boriing sanctimonious life fighting climate change and for the protection of baby sea otters waiting for mom and dad to pass to inherit your small fortune

My neighbor had a Mercedes with a V10 in it and he said the dealership had to pull the engine once to perform a scheduled service. The cost was $5,000.

He never bought another Mercedes.
