Local News Coverage of Blizzard 2010
Date: February 11, 2010 01:30PM

So you are stuck in the house for days at a time because of a fucking blizzard. You flip to Fox 5 to see reruns of Seinfeld or The Office and what do you get? Ongoing coverage of the fucking snow outside!

Seriously, did this piss anyone else off? It's bad enough being stuck indoors and having cabin fever without being reminded of it by all of the broadcast news outlets all of the time!

Well hopefully the other 1100 channels didn't let you down.

The Vienna Inn was packed last night, and the Channel 4 storm reporter made a lot of new friends. Never get stuck at home, I always say!

They did. It seems like all of the channels have taken this opportunity to program shit. Even the Caps let me down by blowing the chance to beat the record by losing to Montreal in OT.

I get sick of it every time it snows. 30" or 3" it's wall to wall coverage with a bunch Pat Collins' standing on some road in Tysons or Bethesda saying "LOOK AT THIS. IT'S DANGEROUS!!". And then you have the Holly Morris' of the world at a Safeway somewhere interviewing people about their need for 5 gallons of milk, ice melt and shovels.

The report should have been this: We just got 30" of snow. Everything is closed. Stay off the roads. We'll let you know when things change.

I fucking hate this area when it snows.

Says the troll.

Look to someone else - I don't post anonymously, ever. Final answer.

Damn Fairy - even when I am not posting in threads you bring me into the conversation. I don't know why you have me on your mind all the time, but you might want to get a new schtick. I mean sorry inka isn't around for you to spew on - but you might actually want to get something going in your life to promote more original thinking. You seem to be stuck in a rut.

At least he acknowledges being Vince(r). It's amazing how slowly self-awareness blossoms for some people.

Just as you acknowledge your FF moniker.

I don't acknowledge the thought behind it, but since you use it to address me I respond on occasion.

You forgot to mention Fox5 reducing the picture size and bordering it with blowing snowflakes. Without a doubt the most annoying background of all time.

I fucking hate this horseshit. Just like they'll talk about how cold it is when it's really cold outside. Just like how they talk about how hot it is on a really hot summer day.

"Coming up at 10, SNOW! The topic of everyone's conversation. Tune in tonight for winter safety tips, including a remarkable way one local woman manages to avoid drinking antifreeze!"

SHUT THE FUCK UP.

I definitely thought it was redundant.

The best parts were:

Newswoman indoors, (nice and warm), says to newsman outdoors, (freezing his ass off):

"So, how you liking it out there?!"

Man: "Well, heh! Not very much!" (Translation, "how about you get your caked faced, fat ass out here and see how YOU like it?")

Same newswoman to man later on:

(It's blatantly snowing like 2012 out there at this point).

"So, what's it doing out there? Snowing?"

Man: "Well, is this snow? I don't know"

That was actually funny.

He was probably like, who the fuck is this patronizing cunt?

I have DirecTV, so during the first 48 Hours after Snowmageddon, I didn't have TV anyways. We have FiOS on a TV in the basement, but I simply decided to go online and spend most of my time outside instead.

Word @ Meph. I was on news overload in the few minutes of idle time I had this week. One more word from an over-caffinated street journalist and I might have shoveled both of my neighbor's driveways.
