Looks like Captain Phil Harris' hard living finally caught up with him.

Is that show any good? There's so many Deadliest Catch ripoff shows I can't keep up - Ice Road Truckers, Ax Men, Sandhogs, Black Gold...etc. etc...

The first season was okay. I haven't watched it this season. Each episode is pretty repetitive. You can only watch so many near misses and hung over loggers yelling at each other.

I like Mythbusters because I can watch it with my kids. I never got into Dirty Jobs.

Dirty Jobs is pretty damn funny, and Mike Rowe is building quite a Discovery empire (he's the voice of Deadliest Catch, too). And now crossing over into Ford Spokesperson...

He does find some hideously nasty jobs to do, although the constant plea for "new ideas" is starting to get boring.

Last night's show at the "bone black" factory (basically cow bone charcoal, ground up to baby powder texture) was the nastiest, shittiest job i could even imagine. Go watch.

Do you think they will bury him at sea or just cut him up for bait?

Damn, it says he suffered the stroke while his crew offloaded crab at St. Paul Island, Alaska. I bet that means a camera crew was there and it'll be a major part of the next season...

I read that and wondered the same thing, but they'll probably cut any footage and only make a mention of it when it happens at the point in the show - out of respect for the family. I wonder if it was the final offload of the season or one of the middle of the season pit stops. Those guys live a hard, hard life,,,up for days at a time, fueled by adrenaline, cigarettes, coffee and high calorie food.
