Probably an intentional misspell. Gets many more shares from the people using to mock him. Most Americans aren't spelling bee winners and don't care. People are unwittingly sharing the context of the Tweet and Trump spreads his message of "no smoking gun", the part you will at worst remember subliminally.

I used to worry that Trump's utter ignorance of everything and everyone around him would make America a laughingstock. But it happened anyway, and I have gotten used to it. Now it is just another thing to laugh at.

ok sure Trump did it on purpose months apart. So brilliant makes him look so good. Probably intentionally committed felonies then intentionally got caught for publicity too. Think how he will rule the headlines when removed from office and sent to prison. It will be the end of a brilliant plan to manipulate public attention.

'smoke' is a common word and not particularly tricky in its spelling. Its hard to imagine how someone 70 years old could still not know the correct spelling of 'smoke' Maybe he can lecture all of us how he has the best brain and is very intelligent or has a high level of intelligence.
