Toyota trucks with V6's are indestructible. They have been that way for 50 years.

The Toyota Hilux turned 50 in 2018. It was the most reliable truck for about that entire time. That's where its reliability expertise stems from.

Toyota trucks are reliable but nobody wants to drive the uncomfortable-ass things.

While it is true that Toyota blows away the competition on quality it is also true that Toyota Tacomas built today are the most American made compact trucks available. Those rusted out Toyotas of years gone by were made in Japan. I bet that guy in the video ends up cracking the 2 million mile mark.

My Tundra is a gas hog, but it's been perfectly reliable and I have well over 100k on it.

200,000 miles is just broke in for a Tundra. If you keep it long enough it should be able to gp 400,000 with only a few minor repairs as long as it gets reasonable maintenance/fluid changes.

Even a GM or a ford can run a million miles if you replace enough parts.

Very true. Millions of 20, 30, 40+ year old American cars and trucks are on the road today. When's the last time you say an 85 or older import? You don't, simply because imports are cheap and disposable. Imports are where they belong, in the great scrap heap in the sky.

You people are incredibly stupid. American and Jap cars are nothing but pure shit. West German cars set the standards for automobile manufacturing worldwide.

I wonder why Toyota is the most successful and richest car company in the world then. If German cars were so good you would think more people would buy them.

A car is only as good as the owner. If you drive and maintain the vehicle as if it was your body, it might go the mileage or.....not.

If you pour enough money in it any vehicle will run forever.

Archimedes steam engine, around 250 B.C. (before Christ)

Archimedes also made a working steam Cannon

Greeks and romans too made many automatons (critizized for being impractical / un-profitable by many in the day). the Antikathera clock kept many forms of celestial time (or tracking) all with sophisticated gears and geometry math.

Germans have recently claimed they invented all modern forms of engines on Wikipedia (4 stroke engine, electric cars, diesel, steam, etc) and have locked out anyone attempting to edit the articles with "alternate historical proven facts". Do you believe them?

Thomas Newcomen of England, in 1712, developed the first practical PISTON engine (of machined metals) being a STEAM powered PISTON engine, not germans or french.

While experimentation continued with other fuels nothing practical was found until Swiss Carl Rivas 1804 (combustion piston engine using fuel rather than steam expansion) - i'm unsure if the citation is correct: i only assume Newcomen tried it earlier than that - in his life.

While England began the Industrial Revolution (and probably modern chemistry), usa's industrial revolution was in many ways stronger ! :)

the contest win will have to go to Archimedes (who collected invetions in his day, they are not really all his inventions of course)

Archimedes first used piston action in a machined tube AND understood it's use

(only if we're talking about engined power by FUEL. if fuel isn't in the picture than piston action likely precedes archimedes)

if you can do this easily, without pulling teeth, the truck is worth over-hauling indefinitely
