This is called "Wishful Thinking"
They are trying to paint the "convention" Nashville as nothing more then some folks trying to capitalize on the movement. Even the folks they quoted in the article - they used their quotes to try and minimize the entire movement by making it sound like there is little coherent message or direction. Just another article by the WAPO to knock down anything that goes against the current "establishment".
$549 for a three day convention is really not that much - I kind of laugh at the WAPO for making it sound so expensive. If you tried to do this kind of convention in downtown DC it would cost a lot more then that - I have been to meetings in Florida and Baltimore where it was $750 for just two days. Good for them though in their continuing efforts to marginalize the opposition to bad policies.
