Trump's Billion Dollar Casino was Sold for .04 cents on the Dollar.
Posted by: Art of The Deal... LOL!!!!! ()

Hell of a deal...

Donald Trump wrote "The Art Of The Deal," but it was Florida's Seminole Indians who made a truly amazing deal to buy the opulent casino built by the man who is now president of the United States.

The Trump Taj Mahal, the Atlantic City, N.J., casino that the real estate mogul built for $1.2 billion in 1990, went for 4 cents on the dollar when it was sold in March. Documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday revealed the price billionaire Carl Icahn got from Hard Rock International for the shuttered casino: $50 million. The sale was publicized at the time, though the purchase price wasn't.

Christ! They might as well of just paid somebody to take the casino. That's basically free.

I wonder how it feels to lose $1.1 Billion in a business venture with nothing left. Trump has the world record for losing businesses.

Trump has a solid history of bankruptcies, failures, and turning things into junk. His biggest success to date was his TV show, which is odd considering he’s supposedly a “world leader”.

That's how much the U.S. will be sold on the dollar if we let him and Republicans bankrupt us.

Trump hasn't owned the place in 20 years. Not important what current owner sold for or paid.

No, Trump and his daughter were both on the board of directors when it went into bankruptcy court in 2010. In fact Trump was the one who negotiated the deal to keep the huge amount of debt on their books in exchange for using his brand name. And then it went bankrupt again! And Trump ended up losing a lawsuit to get his name off the place.

It’s actually an interesting story. Pretty funny. The typical shitshow you’d expect out of Trump.

Wasn't day to day management. Received board position for keeping tiny investment and use of name. Not Trump's failure at all.

It has trump's name and fingerprints all over it. Quit making excuses for trump. He is a failure, who managed to convince 60 million failures to vote for him.

Land is typically much more expensive than a structure (perhaps not including high end finishing).

You couldn't buy the land after a georgia flood casino collapse for 4 cents on the dollar

lol, the Board of Directors is responsible for the management of a company, No two ways about it. And Trump was the goddamn CHAIRMAN of the board while it underwent bankruptcy, THREE times. For cryin out loud. And the place didn't fail because the hotel rooms and casino floor were poorly managed or lacked customers. It failed because the board of directors had the place up to its eyeballs in debt and bad financial deals.

Trump licensed his name to the group who bought him out from the original bankruptcy in 1990.

In 2010, Trump sued to have his name removed as the new management (not Trump) weren't doing proper maintenance.

How the fuck does Trump sue a place if he is on the BOD? No, he doesn't.

that lawsuit was in 2015, homey. 5 years after it declared bankruptcy. the deal was, the casino reorganized under chapter 11, and Trump got some exclusive deal to sell it crap like bottled water and shampoo with Trump's name on it. plus a big neon sign that said "Trump" on it.

It's a widely known story.

Notice how everyone wants to go to Trump casinos and be a part of the magic that is Donald Trump? I was at the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas and it was the most beautiful place I've stayed out there. Not sure if it's just a naming rights thing.

No one wants anything to do with Hillary. She is a loser and if you voted for her maybe you are used to losing too. I'm sorry. I really am.

Trump org only has minority ownership in that place and he’s not involved in its day to day management. He did start it though, and it was another failed venture. It was supposed to be two skyscrapers and a giant casino. Now it’s kust a single tower partially leased to a hotel and timeshare companies (lol go figure).

His businesses are funny, you should go read about them.

'Trump's Billion Dollar Casino was Sold for .04 cents on the Dollar."

".04 cents" is not the same as 4 cents you idiot.

It's either 0.04 dollars or 4 cents.

It’s very difficult to choose a casino but it’s not always possible to get to one of the best casinos. I advise everyone to only a high-quality site with big winnings CasinoTop where there is the opportunity to play without risk.

In a way Trump was smart. Trump could over inflate his losses and write them off against any profits for a long long time on his tax returns. That way he does not have to pay any taxes. He is probably still writing them off.

Yeah he purposely built a billion dollar casino, just so he could enter bankruptcy and get a tax write off.

Trust me, if that were a 'smart' business plan, everyone would be doing it and we would no longer have a functional economy.

It's not that he intended for it to fail, but it did. When it did fail he over inflated. I doubt he really put $1b into it. Plus most of it was borrowed $ so others got screwed. Typical venture cap shit.

Once I had a great time using these simple card games. It seems to me that everyone had such a period. But it wasn't enough for me to just play. I wanted to try my hand at real money games. Have you ever visited an online casino website? I can advise you to check Clash of Slots - There are a huge number of games, including pokies. Everyone can find cool games to play!

If you mean that he continues his decades-long practice of banking and insurance fraud and income tax evasion, then you are correct.

I think this is because they have a lot of competition with other representatives of the game business and not only the game. I think sports betting is quite different from all this monopoly mega movers slot. I had several episodes that convinced me that the casino is like being with their client, and bookmakers it is very important. So they do things differently and aim for long-term cooperation. This is a fundamentally different matter.

A dump would be perfect for the clientele there. But Atlantic City had too many properties anyway. Good riddance
