A $10 billion deal to move all of the Defense Department's classified and unclassified data to the cloud appears to have been rigged in Amazon's favor, Vanity Fair has reported, and is yet another sign of the growing closeness between Jeff Bezos and Defense Secretary James Mattis.

I agree in part. Racists do seem to have at least a dim awareness that the world is changing around them. As might be expected, they are in denial. More importantly, they do not have the moral foundation to understand the their bigotry is detestable, and has no place in a civilized country. Maybe some have trouble looking in the mirror in the morning, but then they turn on Fox and Friends and find their safe space.

But the whole "if not for the electoral college everything would be wonderful" argument is nothing but a convenient excuse. Yes, the electoral college is anachronistic, and allows a motivated minority to at least temporarily take power. But the left has a lot of responsibility in that regard. No amount of Russian meddling would have put Trump over the top if Hilary Clinton in particular and the Democrats in general had not been breathtakingly arrogant and lazy.

To be honest, we need to forget about red state and blue state for a while and put the blame for our current politics squarely where it belongs. On us Americans. 320 million people and Trump v. Clinton was the best we could do?
