The Republican Party did lose. No question about that. Donald Trump did somewhat better. He may no longer have a friendly House of Representatives, but the Republican Party is now part of the Trump empire.

And in this case, the solution is easy. Switch sides.
Actually, it should be easy for him. He always was a liberal until he decided he was entitled to the Presidency.

"Blue Wave" "Red Wall" are both just slogans. This is what really happened.
-The Repubs had a slim majority in the Senate. That majority is a little firmer, but does not significantly alter the balance of power. And there are still a half dozen RINOs Trump will have to buy off to insure they vote the way he wants. Easy enough for him to handle, but still a distraction.
-The House is a different story. Dems now firmly in control. This is important for 2 reasons. First, Trump can't spend money if it has not been appropriated. No wall, no repeal O-care, no more tax cuts for the 1%. In essence, the Trump "agenda" is dead for the foreseeable future. Second will be the investigations. Sunlight is the best disinfectant. Trump will not enjoy himself.
So, overall, Dems look in much better shape post midterms that before. Sounds like the definition of winning. I know all about the Senate and judges, that will just have to be fixed after the 2020 election. There will be time.
