Why Does the Pro Bowl Suck so Bad?

Is anyone going to watch the Pro Bowl today? I might, but in all honesty, I don't think I've ever sat through more than a few minutes of a Pro Bowl game.

The NFL kicks the shit out of MLB, NBA and NHL on most things, but its All-Star game pales in comparison. I will sit through the MLB All-Star game. And while I'm not big fan of the NBA, I know the NBA All-Star game is a huge party in the cities where it is held.

But the Pro Bowl sucks. It gets terrible ratings and nobody seems to care about it. Is it because (traditionally) it has taken place after the season has ended? Is it because the NFL is so much more a team effort than, say, the NBA that individual stars really don't shine in the Pro Bowl like they might in the MLB game? Why? WHY????

The NHL All Star game is awesome, because they switch the format from east vs west to North America vs The World from time to time. What's interesting is, during the seventies and eighties, the game involved the NHL all stars against the Soviet Union.

I care so little about the Pro Bowl I almost didn't click into this thread. The only interesting point about this game would be if somehow a player scheduled to start next weekend gets hurt. But I don't think anyone ever gets hurt in the Pro Bowl.

No player from either of the 2 SuperBowl teams will be in the Pro Bowl.
