Should we let this gigantic caravan of people coming up from the Honduras?

Will folks like gerry be willing to let a couple of folks from that giant mass of humanity live with them while they settle it? Should they be diverted to the nearest Sanctuary City? Would be a nice liberal gesture.

Couldn't Trump just put these people to work cleaning hotel rooms, picking cabbages, pouring/finishing concrete in/on his buildings? How about Jared's?

The reality is that American workers won't do the work these people will. So they come. We only have ourselves to blame.

Yes they are. They will start businesses and prosper some will commit crimes and they will prosper also. This is the land of milk and honey and small business needs a cheap skilled labor pool. Have to keep the margins up.

Exactly!

I've worked construction in this area for 35+ years and I've witnessed the shift from Americans doing the work to a largely Latino workforce. Everything from excavation to final construction cleaning of spaces is performed by Latinos. Even many union shops.

Gone are the days Americans make things with their own hands.

And the construction companies sub the work to these people because they get good fixed numbers from them and these people don't bitch about hard work.

To the guy who said that democrats should share blame that's true to a certain extent but so do many chest thumping republicans that have strawberries to pick or block to be laid or roofs to be put on that hire them.

But they do not go to California, they know how expensive it is and that their wages will go farther elsewhere. They will end up in Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas, etc. They will work at meat processing plants, bulk food plants and other places that need lots of unskilled labor.
