These trucks will have the technology to have the truck driver work from home. It can be driven via playstation. If the driver loses connection of falls asleep or whatever the onboard computer takes over and pulls the truck safely to the roadside and engages the flashers.

Its just a toy right now but it is the wave of the future. The biggest advantage to electric vehicles is that they do not need liquid fuels that have to be trucked. The infrastructure to fuel electric vehicles is already in place except for the actual charging stations.

That's completely battery powered. Plenty of other line-driven and diesel electric locomotives. The latter can produce up to ~15,000 horsepower. The only distinction really being what's driving the generation of electricity (i.e., diesel motor vs batteries), not the motor itself.

It's really not a matter of power. Electric motors can be as or more powerful. Range, weight, size, battery management, etc., are more the considerations.

Yes and so does liquid fuel which has to be trucked at least twice and often transported overseas in ships that also burn liquid fuels.

Liquid hydrocarbon fuels have some inherent qualities which make them well suited for transportation purposes. Easily stored, portable, can be pumped, can be turned on/off easily in end-use applications, etc. But most significantly they have lots of potential energy in a relatively concentrated form. Much more than any similarly sized/weighted battery. Which is mostly why we went with that from electricity-based cars earlier on.

How do you think that the batteries and source materials get there? How do you think that the power put into them is generated with the inefficiency in that generation plus significant additional transmission losses? Electric vehicles have a lot of end-use benefits but the overall cycle isn't really much different and you can make those analyses come out however you want depending on what and how you count. I know, I used to do that for both sides depending on who was paying. lol

I must say, that truck looks amazing! I am not sure about working from home though considering the scandal when a tesla ran off a pedestrian not so long ago. I mean how will they get permits for all that stuff?. I'll definitely not trust a truck being driven from several thousand miles away using a freaking playstation. A friend of mine works at ford dealer Orange County. According to him remote driving will definitely be a thing of this truck in time. But it's not going to happen very soon because of the numerous legal issues.

Remote trucks being automated is perfect use for the technology because trucks run a programmed route every time. It's not like cars or taxi's where routes are unknown.

A truck start at point A, makes the same X number of turns at a given mileage and stops at point B. With GPS and smart vision systems there's really no need for truck drivers any more.

Electric also makes perfect sense. You how much voltage is needed for a truck to go a certain pre-programmed route. Just recharge the truck at the given points.

Hello, my job is to deliver goods to different states. As a rule, there are always a lot of orders, so my truck is always loaded to the limit. You also need to use a trailer and cover it with a dump truck tarps tarpaulin so that all products are protected from the sun and rain. This is the easiest and safest way, as the trailer cover is very strong and keeps temperature well.
