To any of the more knowledgeable computer folk on here, is there any legit and workable Hotmail PW cracker? My friend's GF was on his e-mail recently, and she changed his PW on him and took the account. I know there are a ton of brute force & dictionary crackers and what not, but half of them always seem to have their own viruses and bugs.

are you not seeing the problem with that statement? there is nothing legitimate about cracking into an email account.


anyway, cracking into the account is not a good solution and hotmail will detect it very quickly because this isnt 1996 anymore. what you need is the password.

ideas for your "friend":

• he should talk to his "GF" and have them release the account. if the "GF" refuses, there is a serious relationship issue.
• install a hardware based keylogger (software ones are too easily detected by antivirus/antimalware software) on her computer. there are plenty of them available on the internet quite cheaply. http://www.google.com/search?q=hardware+keylogger

He can contact hotmail and have the password sent to him. They will either confirm his identity with a question / answer that he provided when he signed up or will reset and/or email his password to an alternate email address he provided when he signed up.

they could possibly reset the account but they cannot give you the password. they dont know what it is as the password itself is not what is stored.

it's the equivalent of them having the answer to a question but they dont what the question is. if you only have the question, you can find out the answer but if you only an answer you cannot find out what the question is. so, when you login, you give them your password (the question) and it's processed and it checks if the result(answer) from your password (question) is the same as the result(answer) that they have stored.

and that is why websites can only reset your password and not tell you what your password is.

What parts of "batshit GF changed all of his info" and "need to hack into account" didn't you get?

I'm sure if you call a customer support line or something for them they'll be able to help you. I'd bet dollars to donuts this isn't the first time they've had to deal with this issue.
