A year in to Obama Administration, still losing jobs

What happened to all of the promises to keep or save jobs? On the one-year anniversary of this job-losing administration we still have bad jobs data.

For the record, I'm not a democrat - but it takes a long time to turn something as fucked up as our economy around.

We have a fundamental problem with our economy that isn't going to be fixed overnight. America could have been a leader in green technologies, stem cell research, etc, that would be creating jobs right now. Unfortunately, the anti-Galileo crowd with its anti-science mentality has put the country behind the 8 ball. Instead of being a technological innovator in these fields, we are chasing China, India and Europe. At the same time, old industries are exporting jobs by the boatload.

And rather than pushing the country to become a leader and innovator, the Dems are spending all their political capital to force a half-baked healthcare reform bill down our throats.

That's change we can believe in!

I wouldn't necessarily disagree with you on that.

Or we could have created jobs by exploring for and utilizing our own natural resources. Unfortunately, the disciples of Al Gore have put the country behind the 8 ball.

We don't drill for oil in this country because it isn't cost effective. The oil industry has plenty of oil leases on Federal property that they do nothing with because the profit margins are too small.

Spoken like a true disciple. Way to assumes that oil is the only natural resource.

Yeah we got 100 years of natural gas...a little more oil..and a ton more coal! We need to take advantage of our natural resources and put people to work in the mines.

Totally. Let them be proud that their last days spent in a hospital with Black Lung or in the bottom of a mine after cave-in are being spent as Amerrrrrcans.

Well, let's see how far this goes. It appears the MSM is finally starting to call him to task on trying to blame Bush. At some point he needs to stop using Bush as his justification for all that is bad - Obama is the President now and these things fall on him, Period.

Analysis: Obama's buck-stopping goes only so far

...
Yet every time Obama tries to offer a dose of perspective like that, he faces the reality that people live in the moment.

On terrorism, Americans are less concerned about quiet successes than troubling failures, especially one that evoked harrowing memories of Sept. 11, 2001.

On the economy, people prefer good news now, not updates on how things are gradually getting less bad.

The way Obama sees it, the problems he took on — recession, war, health care, a warming planet — were always too huge and complicated to fix that fast.

So he emphasizes progress by taking people back to where he began.

Which means taking them back to Bush.

"I don't need to remind any of you about the situation we found ourselves in at the beginning of this year," Obama told people at a Home Depot stop last month. And then he reminded them anyway, detailing a nation in financial free fall when he took office.

Interesting clip..says more about the state of our republic then Obama. We obviously punish those politicians with substantive ideas and reward talking heads!

But the truth is the one term GHB was 10 times the president then GWB...Carter was 20 times the president then GWB. The deal GHW made with democrtas that included higher taxes actually helped our economy...and Carter was right on most the issues he faced. So perhaps success isnt measured by winning 2 terms. And thats fine with me if Obama is a one term president who actually did something about health insurance. He will be 100 times better then GWB.

Who cares if it's fine with you?

Carter was a monumental failure as measured by any objective standard. So by that measure alone your valuation would mean that Obama will be 5 times worse then Carter. Great measuring stick you provided. Seriously you are still an idiot.

Carter was right desribing our country as being in a malaise..he was right about our need to reduce our dependence on oil..his economic policies resulted in the elimination of inflation as a serious influence on the economy. He is the only president to produce an Arab-Israeli peace accord that still stands.

His Iranian fiasco was a mere blip on the screen.

He did more in 4 years then GWB did in 8.

THEY ARE NOT PRODUCING BECAUSE THERE IS LITTLE TO NO OIL TO PRODUCE
FROM SAID PARCELS, OR THE GEOLOGY IS SUCH THAT THE OIL IS UNRECOVERABLE.

The jobs are coming. The recent signing of the "Trade Pact" with South Korea is supposed to create more jobs. My question is how?? As it is, we're importing a hell of a lot of Hyundais, Kias and boatloads of other crap from Korea. What can America offer in return that they Koreans might want?
