“So funny to watch the Fake News, especially NBC and CNN,” the president wrote. “They are fighting hard to downplay the deal with North Korea. 500 days ago they would have ‘begged’ for this deal-looked like war would break out. Our Country’s biggest enemy is the Fake News so easily promulgated by fools!”





Adolf Hitler used to refer to the lying press of his enemies, as in the “Marxist Lügenpresse,” while today Donald Trump, disturbingly, does the same.

“Lügenpresse” is a Nazified word from 1914 when it was used by German author Reinhold Anton to refer to foreign propaganda.

The German Defense Ministry even used the word in a book title in 1918, “The Lügenpresse of Our Enemies.” That sounds like Trump too but the enemies were foreign then.

The Führer turned it around to include anyone in the German press who disagreed with him – at least until he had made the German press entirely state-controlled – a state of affairs Trump has already shown he desires.

Where in your quote is Trump calling media 'our country's biggest enemy"? He calls fake news our biggest enemy. A perfectly justifiable position to take.

How is any of the coverage “fake”?

It’s not. It’s highly critical, but that isn’t fake.

That’s the stupid thing trumptards don’t get. Having an opinion isn’t a falsehood.

Now if the media were out saying that Trump gave Kim America’s nuclear secrets during their meeting, that is certainly fake, and his comment would be justified.

But calling his meeting dumb, counter-productive, dangerous, pointless, a political circus, etc., none of that is fake. It’s just opinions Trump doesn’t like.

He states in his first sentence that NBC and CNN are the fake news, then finishes his tweet by saying the fake news is our country’s biggest enemy. Yes, he is labeling the media as an enemy. Trump’s has poor written communication skills but even this one is easy to figure out.
