Trump-Kim Meeting

On the surface, I'm all about this finally happening and am optimisitc of the possibility of finally ending the Korean War. But, I'm skeptical that Kim Jong-Un is being puppeteered by China into making this happen. I can see President Xi blackmailing Un into making this happen, disarming the NK, thus making China even stronger. All the while, Un is thinking he's doing the best thing for NK and SK.

No way they give up the nukes. All the North Koreans need to do is look at what happened to those countries that gave up their nukes or stopped trying to get them. Iraq, Libya, Ukraine. They ended up getting invaded, and in the case of Iraq and Libya, their leaders are shit. I do think trump can work some sort of deal with Kim. Guarantee complete security for Kim in exchange for opening North Korean markets to foreign firms and abolish the planned economy. A formal peace treaty with the south should be on the books too.

A step in the right direction, but it mostly benefits Kim Jong. A great photo op for him, he can go home and tell their version of Fox News "look!, I'm a real heavy-hitter!" Pics of the US flag alongside the NK flag- wowsa! Now he's a big league world leader, now he has some cred and can influence some stuff!
Prediction: 20-30 years of dealing with this guy being an ass, just like the last 60 years.
