the article doesn't say that. how do criminals get a credit check unless the credit check (companies) are corrupt? (which they might be, one has to be careful)

it's obvious that renting is not the same as selling big macs
the law is wrong
a renter wants clean people who don't call to have a toilet seat installed (because they are not lazy and do it themselves) and appear to have promising futures and a clean history
ON THE OTHER HAND. a slum lord may want a criminal or someone a landlord CAN GET RID OF, if he plans to play shinnanigans with government low cost housing (in otherwords landlord is a corrupt politician)
ON THE OTHER HAND. a slum lord may want a criminal or someone a landlord CAN GET RID OF if he plans to remodel (requiring tennants to vacate) and plans to hike the rent (new buyers will not be same as old buyers)

Mc'Donalds is a publicly owned company that has a business licencse as a business "OPEN TO THE PUBLIC". who consumes their food doesn't matter unless its' a nigger who will fight in the restaurant or hold them up or sue them for health reasons.
A landlord is NOT A BUSINESS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. At any time a landlord can decide NOT TO RENT a unit at all.
There is no "promise to the public" by a land owner that HIS/HER building be rented to any one at any time. Never was.
Historical law (Commonwealth Law) is very clear on the matters I mentioned.

I guarantee you who's behind this are crooked political families in Seattle who are trying to force new real estate businesses out of the area.
The same people making the law are the ones WHO WILL ABUSE IT and GET AWAY WITH ABUSING IT.

what OP is not seeing is that foxnews in seattle is acting as tokyo rose: the are "edumacating" the public that the law exists (its' not Constitutional, it does NOT EXIST) and that businesses not following the law are "fairly prosecuted"
the opposite is true: it's a PULICLY ADVERTISED THREAT by rich political families in that area not to get in their way, not to "cross DNC", or the police will be pointing guns at them
