Fairfax Underground
Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
Still not sure if this is a mock question or if you have a general interest...
Anyways, here is your answer:
There is no technical need to wear a tampon since trans women do not get a period.
At the current state of medical possibilities, trans women do not have a possibility for a transfer of an uterus which would be a requirement for menstruation. Even trans women who had re-assignment surgery do not to wear a tampon. Initially they will wear pads until everything is healed up (about one year). During that time tampons are also highly discouraged since they could lead to infections.
However (1): A lot fo trans women carry a tampon and/or a pad in their purse. Why? In case they get asked by another women and do not want to out themselves.
However (2): some trans women wear a tampon every now and then maybe in an attempt to feel closer to a genetically born women. Pads or panty lines are a more common thing but also not every trans women does it (except during the post surgery time if one decides to have surgery)
