What are you doing with your tax refund?

Thank god Trump is in office. I am getting a great refund this year. Feel bad for the Bernie supporters receiving pennies for their $20,000 a year Burger King job

I bought a Ford F-250 King Ranch. I had to use the air conditioned seats today.

I put some of it towards my index stocks, some in savings and the rest I used to take my wife to Ruth’s Chris.

Same laws as Obama's last year in office. Trump had nothing to do with it. And we thank you for making an interest free loan to the Federal government for 2017. I prefer to keep my money in my account until April 15.

You should build an addition on to your house for your lawyer Phillip Leiser to live in. He is bankrupt, on the run from creditors, and his house has been foreclosed. Phil needs a place to live and you are his best client. You can baby sit his little kids Ariel and Naomi Leiser. Phil would like that and he knows you would as well.

Only peasants get excited about spending a tax return, I credit it to my Q1 2018 payment.

I don't get the logic behind this ^ fucked up approach to taxes and refunds at all. Maybe I'm stupid. Help me understand.

The Government sends me a tax refund check every year - and you want me to give it all right back to the Government - interest free, for a whole year, until my taxes are filed again - to pay the Government on what I don't owe them yet?

What if the shit hits the fan in Q2, Q3, Q4 and you are sucking wind for cash?

I take the tax refund check right to the bank, cash it, and invest it so I can make money on my money.

Do you pre-pay the bank principal and interest on your home mortgage before the payments are actually due?

I'll help you out. Since you're a poor wage slave you file your taxes once a year and pay money or get a refund. Wealthy people make quarterly payments, therefore why have the government send you money so you can send it right back when its due for q1 2018. Wealthy people also aren't waiting in line at HR block come January, they file towards the end.

From the IRS...

PAYMENT PERIOD DUE DATE
January 1 - March 31, 2018 April 17, 2018
April 1 - May 31, 2018 June 15, 2018
June 1 - August 31, 2018 September 17, 2018
September 1 - December 31, 2018 January 15, 2019

You're a business owner not making estimated payments? What is this a lemonade stand? Or does your refund far exceed your quarter 1 estimate amount due? In that case you need to find a new accountant.

Never said I don't make estimated payments as required by law. I do. My method is to overpay quarterly taxes and always get at least a six figure refund the following year, after the usual extension. It's a cushion.

Same with State taxes. Pay up front. Pay too much. Get money back later. Another cushion.

Books have been audited by outside accountants for 20 years, audited by the bank for LOC's every quarter with stringent covenant reviews, and in some cases the Government audits the LLC's for compliance. All by the book. No short cuts. Never cheat.

My controller was my outside auditor for years and only came over because we were clean, by the book, and never, ever tried to play stupid games. Fucks me hard on unallowable and personal expenses every month. Tough as nails. Never backs down. That's the way it should be.

I don't know anybody else that has a $100M Lemonade Stand, but let me know if you do - I may want to invest. But a winery can lose money for 7 years and a farm can lose money for 3. They are probably better investments because you can lose money and defer taxes for a much longer period than a Lemonade stand.

Accountants always want to roll tax refunds over to future tax obligations. Fuck that! Cash flow and cash on hand are king.

Tax refunds are cash in hand and they are the bomb. 100% yours and you can do what you want - legally.

When I eventually get the tax refund - flush with cash - I can do other investments which increase my net worth and defer taxable income. Perfectly legal and it is my money - documented, audited multiple times, withstands scrutiny, and 100% mine because I can prove it in court.

Your logic is illogical and you're a dumbass. You give the federal government an interest free loan for an entire year and then invest it where it will be taxed again.

That's a dumbass shitlibs.

+1

Grossly over pays the entire fucking year, doesn't want to give his refund to the goverment 1 - 2 weeks early. Claims he like's being flush with cash, like wtf. He won't even get his refund by the time q1 is due unless he's a plebe filing early, so it's completely pointless.
