However, that man, lawyer, is the lawyer for many men as well as HIMSELF.
No lawyer pays someone to keep quiet then tells everyone the settlement was to stay quiet. For one thing, out of court Settlements are NOT liable to be public, only court trials are.
There is no line to Trump except suggestion.
HOWEVER - the money may have been Trump campaign money. Because the money was apparently not for Republican porn shows, nor to seduce donations (or maybe it was!).
It was Trump's lawyer and that's a stick mess if he knew. The presumption is he would if Trump specifically transfered that money to the lawyer in that sum.
BUT GUESS WHAT. Find the check. He didn't.
Court cases are public because they are not settled privately and because it ultimately (since the days of Rome) uses TOO MUCH PUBLIC MONEY for what they are commonly worth

LEGAL NOTICE: Michael Cohen paid Stephanie Clifford out of his own pocket. He did not state if the money was a gift or as part of his administrative duties (settlement, trust payment, inheritance, whatever it was), was for. Nor does he have to ever say such things. There is no such thing as "open settlements".
Let Trump's lawyer teach you a lesson. NO.
