Some good gifts for an elderly person might be a small blanket to cover up with, music from his days like frank Sinatra or 40's music, a nice book with lots of photos, candy they can share, warm slippers, books on tape, a robe, frames for photos, flowers, hot chocolate and teas, a day at the beauty shop ( you can take her)a visit with a gentle pet ( bunny, kitten, calm dog) cookies or a cake to share, frozen meals they can just microwave, ice cream. Old people love this stuff. Your time will probably be the best gift.

With the internet looking up old photos of a certain place is easy. Find out where they grew up and load some photos off the internet to a disc. Take the disc and get quality photos made to give to them.

Yet another example of TRICKIE coming into to a (completely hilarious but) utterly useless thread and saving it.

TRICKIE what would YOU like for Christmas? The sane among this board certainly owe you something.

That's a good idea Tim45.

Also, finding models of old cars is pretty easy over EBay, buy them a model of a car they used to own, like the one your grandfather owned as a teen when he first met your grandma, etc.

To Appreciative,

Thank you. I disagree. I find a lot of informative posts on here along with the funny ones. But I am glad I could help with the gift ideas.
By the way, I just bought my Christmas present. I found a gold heart bracelet at Macy's that was 50% off the price. It's kind of like the one Bruiser wore around his neck in legally Blonde. (Bruiser was that adorable chihauhua!) Only it has five gold hearts instead of just one. I am sure my husband is going to buy me a Polar heart monitor for when I run. Thank you!!!

Hugs,
Trickie

you are Right Trixie,

The best thing to get the elderly are memories, such as a scrap book full of pictures of happy memories, a soft cuddly pet to help keep them warm and petting a warm fuzzy pet keeps blood pressure low and even. A few lottery tickets would work as well. I know that my Granpa always loved getting that in cards. All in all its the thought that counts and he always appreciated knowing that he was appreciated by his grankids so that is what we got him, that and a 20 year old hooker.

XOXOXOX gramps!

Who the fuck resurrects a 9 year old post?

But I guess it's still good advice although a 20 year old hooker would be a waste of time. 60 yr old more like it.

A picture of the make/model of their first car, from Amazon or eBay, not sure how many of these sellers offer express shipping for it arrive before Christmas. Might be able to find at a collectible or thrift shop locally with some looking.
