AG Jeff Sessions gave DAG Rosenstein until the end of November to get to the bottom of Uranium One and what the FBI did when it investigated it as part of the approval process. Rosenstein turned it over to the DOJ's IG. The IG has filed a preliminary report but expects it will take 2 or 3 more months to submit a final report. Sessions has said he won't wait that long before appointing a special counsel to investigate it, especially with all the fuck up Mueller did in hiring partisan democrat party operatives as part of his team.
Rosenstein is being hauled up before the House Judiciary Committee this week. Expect a grilling and, if he doesn't answer the questions adequately, a call by a majority of the House GOP asking for a special counsel to be appointed immediately.
Bottom line: if Sessions doesn't appoint a special counsel to look at the internal operations of the FBI regarding Uranium One and Clinton email investigation, Trump will fire him and appoint someone who will. Sessions has had this made very clear to him.
