Is this common for Lenovo computers?
Posted by: Not a Geek ()

I bought a Lenovo laptop to have communication while I'm traveling. I dont use it very often, maybe 2 or 3 times a month. But I'm curious about a quirk I have noticed that Ive never seen before.

When I turn on this laptop and after it boots up, it seems to be drunk and very slow for the first 10 minutes it's on. Nothing works properly. Then all of a sudden it comes to life and operates quickly and smoothly. This happens every time I fire it up. After this hangover period it always seems to work great.

Any ideas? I will admit this was a pretty cheap laptop but like I said its just for use while on travel. Except for this goofy quirk it does everything I need it to without fail.

go to amazon, search under your model and look at the bad reviews. If you see lots of complaints of the same thing you know its a model issue. Big weak point in cheap laptops is unstable performance and cheap materials. Next time get a chromebook or like computer for surfing - they are generally cheap and stable.

Well like I stated, I am very pleased with the performance of this laptop in relation to the cost. It's just that initial 10 minute period that is a bitch. Really makes no sense to me but Im no geek!

Ubuntu was good like 10 years ago before Microsoft took it over. It's been shit for years.

It could be an anti-virus scan running or something similar that is eating up memory for a while until it finishes scanning. When it is occurring you can open up task manager (google how to do that) and check "processes" to see what is running in the background and eating u memory.

Your cumputer most likely has the runtime data virus. I recommend you reset every password you have and cancel all of your credit cards. You will need to replace the hard drive. For the cost its not really worth it.

Format your hard drive, buy a Clinton sledge hammer, smash it to little bits, then purchase a real computer and virus protect it from the start. Also, fuck the Geek Squad, if you're even thinking about using them, they are more worthless than Snyder with a football team!

Lenovo is not a cheap laptop unless you bought it used. They are great laptops. I've owned four of them. Don't know about the problem you're having. Maybe a virus.

Well if it's a virus, which I doubt, it's on a timer! I have good anti virus software. This was purchased new about 3 years ago, around $400 if I recall.

Not going to do that for a laptop I seldom use. No credit cards have ever been used on this computer or any computer I have!

if you only use it every other week or so then maybe it has to update windows when you boot up.

Ubuntu is completely controlled by anti-USA germany. it is an arm of NOVELL/ANTHEM (german cia / telephone company) that seeks to destroy USA's ma-bell, verizon, at&t so they can control USA's "brain" during any future attack - including owning USA's cell towers. According to Wikipedia: Germany has already succeeded doing this.

Ubuntu has had a practice of attacking anyone who requests they stop killing unix and adding spyware to their "linux OS release". They close the BUG REPORT though the problem isn't fixed, accuse those who post bugs of not upgrading to (a more buggy system).

Ubuntu hates intel products and supports ARM and china products. Always have. Always been their plan to kill off Apple and Intel to support ASIAN market control (for a price)

Ubuntu IS CONTROLLED completely by foreigners who have "crypto keys" to lock out any updates fixing problems, lock in problems their military supports, and delete messages by any users noticing what is going on.

Ubuntu is NOT unix related. It's a complete perversion of UNIX and an erasure of it's American principles.

That not a "ding" on Linux Kernel: ok on support but thin on follow-through.

(arguable linus has been allowing suspicious foreigners to add hacks into kernel: being that hardware (and malware embedded in hardware) is so much more complex - merely making something a module is no longer protection: because the core modules that get "authority" like SATA are both incomplete, siding with non-intel products by doing xxxx, and FOR ANY PRACTICAL PURPOSE CANNOT BE UN-LOADED)

things are more complicated these days: so are politics

not enough info to go on

ie, we don't know what's software is installed on it

also OP IS CERTAINLY A TROLL, BECAUSE this is not a windows 10 forum - which there are tons of on the internet, and the question can be googled faster than it can be asked - which OP pretends is not possible

OP is also a troll because he is INTENTLY POSTING A WASTE OF TIME POST, meaning he says it's "slower" but that is VERY VAGUE. he never said his web browser doesn't work well: he just said "slow-er"

It is installing Windows updates. Windows 10 pushes updates to your computer automatically. If you were using your computer daily it would be much less CPU intensive and you wouldn't notice. Since you are installing a month's worth of updates every time you turn on your computer it is bogging down your computer.

You can easily install Ubuntu on a Chromebook using Crouton.

First off why the fuck would you buy a Lenovo computer when you can go out and get a better one for half the price this makes no sense why you would go out and buy a cheap ass computer when you can either build one or buy one or get one used or get a faggot MacBook

Lenovo could be just a waste of money as you have to accomplish them with hardware and if you doing a studio that lots of people working in, you might want to take lap tops and get everyone a workplace to do their work stuff. You can start looking at www.thelaptopguru.com and get something from a typewriter - type laptop to a high-end system. But, for sure if you doing a workstation on your own, then yes, you might need only a few monitors.
