Well, there's your "change". Guantanamo Bay will stay open well into 2010, if not beyond.

i'll never vote for a black president ever again.

because he was like 'YEA, I'M BLACK AND I'M GOING TO CHANGE THE WAY WASHINGTON RUNS!"

now now washington fails, and we don't get to blame his race, even though he campaigned on it? You can't have it both ways.

He didn't campaign on his race.

He is a liar, lying is what a liar does. He got his votes, no need to actually come through with the "change."

Gitmo will be closed..it would be on schedule if it werent for the cowardly repubilicans who have everyone worried about bringing them to their back yard...sort of like the nuclear power republicans who dont want any waste transported through their state. How do you spell kowards?

Seriously Vince - you should learn to shut the fuck up sometimes. It's a wonder you ever had 2 brain cells to rub together you fucking idiot. There were folks on both sides that were persuaded to lobby against the Yucca site - in all seriousness, it needs to go somewhere. Trying to guard a few dozen sites, versus one really large one would be more cost effective in the long run.

Former Governor Kenny Guinn (RINO)

...
As is well known by this time, Nevada considers the Yucca Mountain project to be the product of extremely bad science, extremely bad law, and extremely bad public policy. Moreover, implementing this ill-conceived project will expose tens of millions of Americans to unnecessary nuclear transport risks. For these reasons we in Nevada believe, and ask, that Congress should take no further action with respect to the Yucca Mountain project.

...
As governor of Nevada, Guinn developed a reputation as a moderate Republican who appealed to many Democrats. Many conservative critics derided the governor as a "RINO," or "Republican in Name Only." Such criticisms reached a fever pitch during the 2003 legislative session when Guinn shepherded through a one-billion dollar tax increase, the largest in Nevada history. In percentage terms, Guinn's 2003 tax hike was the largest tax increase ever by one of the 50 states, but it was praised as "a controversial but realistic step to shore up the overstretched budget of the nation's fastest-growing state."[4]

In 2006, Guinn declined to endorse Jim Gibbons, the Republican nominee for Governor of Nevada, due to bitter disagreements between the two politicians.
...

Look, they even did a breakdown of all the Congressional districts the waste would have to travel through. At the time of the writing, it was 170 R to 160 D. That has changed since then, so I wonder who is voting against it now?
