Here's a stimulus success story: In Arizona's 15th congressional district, 30 jobs have been saved or created with just $761,420 in federal stimulus spending.

They likely pay it back in income taxes. Try this one on for size, In Connecticut's 42nd district the recovery.gov Web site claims 25 jobs created with ZERO stimulus dollars!

It takes small businesses a while to ramp up to a hiring mode once they have cut people. If the stimulus funds allow these businesses not to cut people in the first place, or to be a little more confident in the short term to hire people with the belief they will be able to keep them on once the economy starts to come back, I think it is a good investment of taxpayer dollars.

Exactly, not only is the program putting people to work, it is putting them in homes. Recovery.gov says $34 million in stimulus money has been spent in Arizona's 86th congressional district in a project for the Navajo Housing authority!

That's not the point, the point is that 40.3 people got jobs created in the 99th congressional district of the U.S. Virgin Islands with only $8.4 million spent.

I believe the point was that there is no 15th congressional district in AZ.

Whatever, naysayer, just because these Congressional districts don't exist doesn't mean it isn't helping the people of AZ's 15th!!

In that case, someone needs to be losing their job for putting that out without fact-checking.

It's kind of scary that these folks work for the Federal government and can't be expected to do some basic fact checking before they post this stuff. And by doing so, it brings into question everything they have promoted with saving jobs and such.

If you fired everyone that screwed this waste-of-money up then there would be a net loss after all of the smoke cleared.

Sad thing about this - any job that might have REALLY been created is most likely either temporary or a government job - one that doesn't produce anything but a warm body.

Ridiculous.

F small businesses wanting my tax dollars. Who the f are they to characterize confiscation of money from my back pocket as a "good investment."

Completely assinine.
