Europe vs. America

Which one is better: Europe or America? America seems to be tottering these days, while Europe is roaring...but these things come in pulses and bursts. It could be different next year. What say you?

America, duh. Europe is fun to visit, but most of their governments are too involved in every aspect of their citizens lives, and a majority of the people living there are completely oblivious to threats in the world (Until half of their continent is overtaken that is).

America ftw (Even though I really like a few specific EU locations).

BTW, your definition of "Better" is only based upon Currency Value it seems. It's a very subjective issue, so people can give a multitude of different answers.

Oh yeah, and one thing I need to add: THe European Nations don't have a Constitution which protects their Citizens like we do. In many EU Nations, you don't even have a right to a Jury Trial, or a right to have a Lawyer represent you in criminal proceedings either.

Flip side...In America wealth is the answer to most things. Arrested for a crime...money can get you off...need medical care, money can buy you all the care you need....need a good education, you can buy the best that money can get in this country. I am sure there is no minority group in Europe that has 33% of its adult male members in prison.

Now I am not naive enough to say money isnt a factor in Europe as well...but I think it is to a lesser degree. And as fas as the govt's being involved in every day life...I think that is highly exaggerated.

Registered Voter...a Big talking coward..big man on FFXU...little man in life.

Yes and no, but I will say this, you guys herehave a lot more freedom, as groups and induviduals.

An onwer of a gas station in the UK put a sign up clearly displaying the breakdown of the price of gas, and the gov's tax in it, next day - gov car turns up, take the sign down sir.

would that happen here?
