I found an interesting stone

I found it on a site where a bulldozer was digging up soil and large rocks, it is very heavy and dense, no air holes just a smooth surface with a black tar colored substance in spots on surface (fusion crust?). It has many tiny silver colored spots on and throughout the surface, metallic spots not crystal, there is no rust so it leads me to believe it might be nickel. You can feel the desity just by holding it, size of baseball and weight close to 5 pounds. Possible meteorite?

Nothing like that, it doesn't have a shape like oblong or prolong. It has smooth surface but a shape like a stone with indentations. I've done a little research since I posted, no way is yours a meteorite.

Why don't you post a pic of the stone you found?

If it tests positive for nickel it's almost certainly a meteorite.

How do you do that? It has numerous metallic flakes and little rust, nickel does not rust so is it possible that the flakes are nickel / it attracts a magnet very nicely. I've heard that the "Nickel Detect" stuff they sell is not reliable on nickel iron alloys. Can I use sulfuric acid or muriatic acid to etch it? Thank you!
